This two-step animation demonstrates the differences in page flows between server-side and client-side rendered web applications. With Single Page Applications (SPAs), the need for a 404 page can be eliminated, and users can be redirected to the next relevant page. The figure provides a high-level understanding, and is accompanied by an Elm demo Proof of Concept (PoC).
